Moore & more!

Everyone, everyday, celebrates a birth day.  Not just the day they were birthed, but those days they are born and reborn.  Whether this birth is a physical one or a spiritual one, it deserves recognition and celebration.

This series is a collection of all the Biblical verses represented by my physical birth date, that I have birthed into a new message for all of you.  There are 29 in all.  I will try and write a message each week for each one, in no particular order.

I hope you will enjoy.  Also, check out my other works at:   http://www.lcherylmoore.com

Have you been in a place where you've been trying your hardest to get ahead, to put things in place.  Then something happens that sends you reeling back on your heels and defeats all you've been trying to accomplish.  There are moments in my life when I just want to throw in the towel and give up.   We’ve all felt pretty drained and alone one time or another. And it makes us feel spent. In times like these, especially in times like these, I encourage you to turn to your Bible for guidance.

I’ve compiled a few verses that encourage me, and thought you guys could benefit from them too :)

Psalm 34:17-19 When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.

Psalm 147:3 He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

Psalm 55:22 Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.

Isaiah 41:10 fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Isaiah 40:31 but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

Isaiah 42:16 And I will lead the blind in a way that they do not know, in paths that they have not known I will guide them. I will turn the darkness before them into light, the rough places into level ground. These are the things I do, and I do not forsake them.

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Matthew 11:28 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Romans 8:28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

1 Corinthians 9:24 Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it.

2 Corinthians 4:8-9 We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;

2 Corinthians 5:7 for we walk by faith, not by sight.

Galatians 6:9 And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.

Philippians 4:19 And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

There is no answer that cannot be found in the book of knowledge, love and truth.  Get yourself right, and get right with the Lord!

Complaining about a problem without proposing a solution, is called "whining".  Theodore Roosevelt

So many times, you awaken with good feelings and great intentions, and then someone feels the desire to tell you something or say something that just brings you down.  Then you start going over and over it in your mind, or you start running around trying to "do something about it"  and you only end of shoveling dirt into your own grave.  Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain - and most fools do.

Life is too short, stop wasting precious time blaming, dwelling, criticizing, preaching, controlling, impressing and complaining.  Step back and take a breath, and tell yourself:

Today I will not allow anyone to change my awesome spirit.  I will stay happy, joyful and encouraged throughout the day.  I will not complain or worry and I will not let people or situations rob me of having my great day!

What you are suppose to do if you don't like something, is change it.  If you can't change it, change the way you think about it. (Maya said that!) Offer up a solution, or at the very least - propose difference.  Sometimes we complain about things that are being done, not in the way you would do them; which doesn't make them wrong.  Sometimes, we complain about things that we feel are wrong that are being done to others; and although your complaint may be legitimate - maybe that person doesn't feel the way you feel.  Imposing your own moralities on others will only become a complaint for them!  Control what you can, let everything else go - or give it to someone who can do something about it.

Philippians 2:14
14 Do everything without complaining or arguing,

Lastly, don't complain just to conform.  You can't change how people see you, like you, or treat you or say about you.   But...you can change how you react to them.  Kill 'em with your kindness!  Forgive them of their ignorance, neglect, unfamiliarity or unhappiness and teach them to see and do better!  And allow yourself to receive their "suggestions" and either act on them or send them to the complaint graveyard.

Then be okay with what you've decided, and continue to have a great day!

Psalm 23

New International Version

A psalm of David.

The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
    He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
    he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
    for his name’s sake.
Even though I walk
    through the darkest valley,[a]
I will fear no evil,
    for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
    they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me
    in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
    my cup overflows.
Surely your goodness and love will follow me
    all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
    forever.
